First Landing Beach Resort & Villas located at Vuda Point is a 43-room resort with upcoming expansion plans and active residential lot sales. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, highly motivated individuals who meet the qualifications for the following positions. Attractive remuneration packages will be negotiated with the successful applicants.

FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (reports to Managing Director)

This is a key senior management position with the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Supervising the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Department including functions relating to debtors, creditors, bank reconciliation, cash flow, purchasing and stores. Maintaining debtors, creditors and inventory ledgers and the fixed asset register.
2. Ensuring all staff records are up to date and maintained properly.
3. Preparing monthly VAT and STT returns and attending to other statutory requirements for the First Landing group of companies
4. Undertake special projects as required by the Managing Director
5. Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management reports along with special reports as required, preparation of budgets and cash flow forecasts.  
6. Implementing and maintaining strong internal accounting controls including daily bar stock takes.
7. Liaising with external auditors, bank and contract IT service provider as required. With the IT service provider ensure all computer systems are operating efficiently, secure and properly backed up.
8. Supervising and training Accounts staff.

The successful applicant will have a degree in Accounting and Finance from a recognized tertiary institution, with at least 5 years experience of which 2 years should be in a similar level position, preferably in a hotel or resort of similar size. Experience with MYOB, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Computerized Payroll Systems, roomMaster Reservations and Point of Sale Systems is required.

The successful applicant must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skill with a proactive attitude for continuous improvement in accounting systems and procedures. 

 

ACCOUNTS CLERK (reporting to the Financial Controller)

The job duties and responsibilities will relate to accounts receivable and accounts payable duties as required by the Financial Controller. Accounts payable duties are reconciliation of creditors accounts each month and update the creditor listing, prepare payment vouchers and checks ensuring all supporting documentation is in place, talking with creditors regarding payments. Accounts receivable duties are ensuring debtor statements are in order and correct and all required information is given to the Financial Controller in a timely and accurate manner. Follow up on payments as required.  Other duties include being a second sign off on goods received, filing of accounts and administration documents as required. 

A minimum experience of 2 years as an accounts clerk, preferably in a similar sized resort plus experience with Microsoft Office systems. 

 

RESORT STOREMAN (reports to Financial Controller)

The job duties and responsibilities will include the efficient day-to-day management of the Resort's Storage Facilities for food, non food, beverage, housekeeping and maintenance items. This will include daily stock issues, receiving deliveries of stock, ensuring orders received are a per orders and product quality is to standard, monitoring stock levels to designated par levels, maintaining stock control/rotation/storage to required standards, submit purchase requests to purchasing officer, maintain accurate stock records and issue reports and analysis as required.

A minimum experience of 2 years as a Storeman, preferably in a similar sized resort plus experience with Microsoft Office systems.

 

RESERVATIONS CONSULTANT (reports to Guest Services Manager)

The job duties and responsibilities will include the efficient day-to-day management of the resort's reservation department. This will include processing reservations by telephone and email, updating the resort and third party websites for rates and availability on a daily basis, ensuring accurate information is maintained on the reservations system, liaising with travel agents and wholesalers, knowledge of all contracts and specials, in discussion with management setting of room rates and specials and ability to undertake site inspections and meet with travel agents. Room yield management is a key component of the job responsibilities. Also checking third party websites for accurate information and updated pictures.

This position has a high degree of responsibility and requires a person with motivation, ability to work unsupervised and have a pleasant personality with good interpersonal skills. A minimum of 5 years of reservations experience preferably in a similar sized resort plus competence in roomMaster Reservations/Menu Mate systems and Microsoft office systems is required. 

 

RESTAURANT & BAR SUPERVISOR (reports to Guest Services Manager)

The job duties and responsibilities include the daily supervision of the restaurant and bar operations, ensuring standards and procedures of service are maintained, guest satisfaction is high, liaising with kitchen & functions coordinator as required, preparing weekly rosters, and supervising bar and restaurant staff. Ensuring the balancing of daily stock and sales for the bar. Must be able to assume the Duty Manager role as required as this is a middle level management position.

This position requires a motivated, responsible and guest orientated person with at least 8 years food and beverage experience of which at least 2 years are in a senior supervisor role preferably in a similar sized resort.
